The CoMotion Innovation Gap Fund is a partnership between CoMotion and the Washington Research Foundation that provides up to $1 million per year, awarding $50K grants to as many as 20 teams. Our mission is to fund and support projects that have strong potential for impact but are unlikely to progress without targeted gap funding. The Innovation Gap Fund program is designed to help technologies cross the “valley of death” between the end of academic research support and the stage at which they can attract seed-stage investment. Funds may be used to develop a proof-of-concept for your idea.

Successful projects have used Gap Fund awards to:

• create prototypes

• complete software coding or user-interface development

• initiate beta testing

• research customer demand

• research and validate new markets
